The seminar will explore the diversity of urban space, addressing issues such as who urban art projects are made for and what their significance is. We have invited artists, researchers and curators working with urban art to provide a diverse overview of the topic from different perspectives. Through these talks, we approach the questions of who has the opportunity to make urban art and who has the opportunity to experience it.
The constant transformation of cities affects the way people exist in urban space, and on the other hand, the way people act in urban space shapes the city. The possibilities and functions of urban art are not stable, but should respond to this change and enable people to interact with their environment.
The urban art seminar has been inspired by and based on the urban art and offsite projects carried out by Arte ry over the years.
