Kristin Wiking: Upstairs | 28.8.-20.9.2020

The exhibition opens on Friday the 28th of August at 12pm without an opening. Welcome!
The upper floor has been taken over by soft puppets, so that what is to happen can happen. It happens that the puppets disturb, toil, linger and entertain themselves. They throw balls at us. Nothing cannot happen, of course. The most important thing is what makes what happens happen.
Upstairs is a dramatized installation based on the idea of a fictional upper floor of Titanik.
Kristin Wiking (b. 1987, Sweden) lives and works in Helsinki since 2010. She graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts (MFA) in Helsinki in 2016. Her works are conceptual in their character and often deal with simple, human, banal situations, where they arise a kind of vulnerable human connection. And then the laughter is never far away.
The exhibition has been realized with support from The Swedish Cultural Foundation, The Arts Promotion Centre Finland, The Finnish Art Association, The Paulo Foundation and Föreningen Konstsamfundet.
